The Gmail Dot Trick
Disposable Email Address
Need to create a disposable email address (DEA) with Gmail?
Read on to see exactly how.
Log into your Gmail account.
Click on the gear box icon located at top right of the page.
Click on the "Settings" link in the drop down menu.
Click on the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
Next click on the "Create a new filter" link.
In the "To" input box, enter your email address with a dot anywhere before the @gmail.com part. You can use as many dots as you want. Below are 2 examples.
If you use a different domain then @gmail.com for your email, just make sure to put the dots before the @ symbol.
Next click "Create filter with this search >>".
In our case, we'll want to apply a label called "junk sites" to any email sent to the disposable email address we just created. Use any label you like.
Press the "Create filter" button.
You can confirm it's in place when you see something like the below.
You can now give your disposable email address out to any website or person and you'll receive emails directly in your Gmail inbox. If a website does not accept your Gmail disposable email address, you can always try one from EmailOnDeck.com
